How to Pack a Weed Dugout and Bat
Grind the cannabis, fill the storage chamber, then press and twist the bat into the herb to load the tip. A dugout is a two-part box: one chamber stores ground flower, the other holds a one-hitter pipe, often called a bat. With ground material ready, packing a bowl takes about fifteen seconds.

Storing damp flower in the dugout also causes trouble, since moisture makes the herb clump and the bowl will not hold shape. Let flower dry to the point where it crumbles instead of smearing.
Keeping It Clean
Empty the storage chamber when you finish a session so stale herb does not sit in the wood. Push the pick through the bat from the mouthpiece end to clear resin. Wipe the bowl with a dry cloth.
